However, the screen size is identical (8 inches) and there are already people who have retrofitted the vehicle in older vehicles (specifically a 2013 Taurus) and have explained that it is a 'drop in' replacement with no wiring changes or dashboard modifications. Ford permitted owners of certain 2009 basic stereos who bought cars that did not ship with the Sync 1.0 system to implement it. This was a dealer part, still on the Ford Accessory part today.
