Mar 25, 2019  Audi don't produce the maps they are purchased form a third party company, so they are likely to be out of date by 6/12 months as they have to get all the European countries, then produce an update disk which will then need to be tested before it's rolled out, so you will never get a true up to date maps when you do bulk updates like Audi do. May 07, 2016  I've been thinking about going up to the 2015 maps, but apparently to do this I need to also do the firmware update. I work in IT, and when firmware is released it normally includes a change list. I can't seem to find one for any of the audi firmwares that are available. But please be careful, because different MMI systems has a different map update. If you have MMI 3G PLUS you have to looking for MMI 3G Plus maps, same for MMI 3G High and Basic. Format your SD in FAT 32

Copy the root of your firmware in the SD(like picture below)

Open “Engineering Menu”

A screen like this will appear

Insert the SD card with the firmware in slot 1

Press the “Update” option using the MMI Control Panel

Scroll down with the big knob and select the source in the menu(SD 1) press it.

The MMI will reboot and the update process will start

After several minutes/hours(it depends that what it has to update and the speed of your SD) the firmware update will be done.

Aresume with all updated modules will appear.Scroll down and press “Continue”
